Virabhadrasana II (Warrior posture II)

The same opening movements as Pasrvakonasana with the feet at a distance that allows a 90 degree angle (slightly more obtuse angle shown here that is more suited to beginners). In the final pose the trunk is held upright in the same shape as Tadasanawith the arms extended and abducted to shoulder height. The arms and shoulders on both sides should be on the same frontal plane. The work on the feet and legs are the same as Parsvakonasana. Keeping the top of the left pelvis moving back whilst keeping the right knee over the ankle whilst the right buttock moves anteriorly will ‘open’ (abduct) the hip joints.
