THE PRACTICE

Research finds most low back pain is caused by poor posture and weak muscles.    more

Muscle strength, balance and good posture can help deal with pain and discomfort in the back, hips, knees and shoulders     more.

Learn and practice postures and exercises that can help make and keep you fit and pain free      more

Psychological conditions often have physical symptoms. Yoga works on both levels   more

Postures and breathing techniques induce different moods - some calming, others enlivening helping relieve insomnia, anxiety, depression and fatigue     more.

Relaxation techniques are taught in class but your ability to relax will be greatly enhanced with regular practice of the postures. The skills learned in posture work can help give you the control necessary to relax and be generally more calm and in control.    more

The THERAPY:

Sports therapy uses massage, joint mobilisation, posture and exercise work to treat common sports injuries and similar muscle and joint conditions including back pain that occurs in muscles and joints when strained through misalignment or overuse.  It can relieve pain, promote recovery from an injury and prevent recurrence of the problem   more

.

Treatment aims to help your body in its own healing process. It can relieve pain by soothing the nerves of muscles and joints and by stimulating the body’s natural pain-killers and pumping nutrients into the injured area. Posture work and specified exercises can help realign joints and rehabilitate the injury and help prevent the problem recurring.   more

Sports therapy and yoga are complimentary.

Consultation and treatment are available at the studio in St John's Wood, at the Yogabase studio in Islington or at your home.
